My name, LaCaudria when correctly enunciated emits a magical sound, on the other hand when mispronounced it sounds like an alphabet fight spilling from one's mouth. Over the years, more alphabet fights than magical sounds have infused my ears when LaCaudria is read from a document or repeated after me, therefore the preference to be referred to as L. C. has taken precedence.
It is often said that you can learn a lot about a person by their name.....zodiac sign (Aquarius), birth-date, account balance, body shape, etc., the plug and play list continues. Namekun, (a website that provides meanings of names (according to them) when entered into the search engine on the Namekun website) has accelerated knowing all about you based on your name to a higher level. Just for fun and to appease my curiosity, I took a peek to read what Namekun had to say about LaCaudria. My first surprise was LaCaudria actually populated in the search engine. The second surprise was, there is some truth in the first paragraph of their meaning that boldly describes LaCaudria as a born Investigator. I knew it! I knew it! LOL, thanks for the proof Namekun.
After carefully assessing my creative and entertainment talents, it was clear that higher education would be much more valuable to me. Now, if only I had known I was a "born" Investigator sooner, my mother may have been spared a few of the loud annoying sounds from my bedroom and shower that I referred to as singing. I'll spare the details of my musically induced body reflexes brought on by my favorite songs playing on the radio. These reflexes would often result in a question from my mother, "are you taking medication for those fits".....hay, it was dancing to me LOL. My athletic career wasn't any better and ended immediately after I discovered my mouth didn't work as well as my glove. OUCH! A busted lip.
These realities were revealed prior to my first day of High School, thus making my post High School educational decisions easier. My future was dependent upon education and training beyond High School and I got started right away. In 1998 I earned my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a certification in Basic Mediation Skills and Techniques from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. In 1999 I became a Certified Member and Client Services Specialist and in 2005 I became licensed by the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission to serve and sell alcohol.
Several years later my interest in investigations became more profound, and I began studying for the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau exam to become a Private Investigator. In 2009, I passed the exam and became a Licensed Private Investigator (LPI) in Texas. In 2014, a provision was adopted to rule 35.121 of the Private Securities Statutes and Rules eliminating the exam as one of the requirements (If only I'd waited a few years) to become an LPI, unless you are a Subordinate at someone's Investigation Firm. My brain made me feel like I was near the knowledge capacity level in 2009 because in addition to becoming a LPI, I also became a Texas Supreme Court Process Server, a Notary Public and a Concealed Handgun License carrier.
After 2009, I took a brain relaxation break, a classroom learning hiatus, a knowledge strike........etc. My learning vacation was so appreciated that I'd vowed not to obtain any additional credentials or degrees ever. Well we know what is said about saying never. In 2011, I awoke from learning hibernation and became a Licensed Travel Agent, a Certified Interrogator-Interviewer and a Certified Fraud Examiner. After these accomplishments, I made it a point not to say NEVER in the same sentence with obtaining credentials and degrees again. My next actions proved it was a good idea that I didn't. In 2013, I earned my Masters Degree in Applied Criminology from Texas A&M Commerce in Commerce, Texas and in 2016 I became a
Certified Protection Professional.
What can I say? I enjoy the challenges of learning and the credentials and degrees that are earned are only the creme de la creme. I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge and earning additional degrees or certifications as necessary to further my career and continue to increase my knowledge with investigations involving Human Resource Consulting, Copyright/Trademark Investigation, Life Safety and Workplace Violence Prevention.
As you would imagine, becoming an assiduous, versatile, intuitive, dynamic Investigator didn't happen overnight, contrary to the meaning of my name describing me as a born Investigator. Liquid was poured into this mold in 1992 when I was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the US Merit Systems in Dallas, Texas before it became the current solid element of today. The US Merit Systems was my "real world" introduction to the importance of details, case file management, mail processing, court hearing schedules and answering multi-line office telephones.
Additionally, the US Merit Systems was a great and fun opportunity and one of many that had a positive impact on my career. They were instrumental with influencing my career and reinstating that my goals were and still are attainable. While working towards my goal of becoming an Investigator, many positions I held were merely yield signs in my path. However the knowledge attained contributed and continue to contribute to what I now refer to as my career as an Investigator.
Positions that have and continue to contribute to my investigative career include but aren't limited to; Records Management at Baylor College of Dentistry, Device Upgrade Management at MCI, Immigration Status Verification at Immigration Naturalization Services, Tax Examiner at Internal Revenue Service, Fraud Recovery Investigator at Resource One Credit Union, Owner/Travel Agent - The TravelShopp, Owner/Private Investigator - On and Off Paper LLC., Researcher at Arbitron, Credit Analyst at PFS Web and Investigator/Security Consultant at Capital One Bank.
In addition to utilizing my education, experience and expertise to uncover the truth one case and one interview at a time on thousands of cases, I've also had the opportunity to develop, manage and execute security plans for large corporate events to singular (some images featured in the Opticview tab) high profile political and social figures, manage security for corporate campuses, develop and execute life safety plans (including device management), security guard management, develop and manage policies and procedures, develop incident response strategies and serve as an expert witness in numerous financial institution involved court proceedings.
Further, my skills, experiences and expertise are continuing to be developed and enhanced with continuing education opportunities and the growing environment of technology.
I'm looking forward to future career elevations and accomplishments to further develop, implement and manage security programs and maintain safety and security for all and protect assets.
